Always

• Use a dedicated Pentium PC for best results. Trying to save money for sharing a PC for other purposes can prove to be penny wise pound foolish.
• Ensure that the PC is kept ON at all times for proper data logging.
• Maintain at least 100 MB of free space on your Hard Disk.
• Have uninterrupted power supply. Power interruptions can crash the program and stop data collection, leading to faulty decisions.
• Restrict access to authorized personnel only. Unauthorized use of the software can cause glitches in data gathering and reports, viruses, PC crashes etc.
• Good house keeping of the system.

Never

• Run concurrent applications on the PC on which eLAN ^®  is loaded. They often leave behind a clutter of files and registry entries.
• Leave archiving of data till the hard disk is full.
• Load application from external media without checking for virus. Update your anti-virus software every month.
• Try interfacing with other applications / Operating Systems without checking for conflicts
