Energy Efficiency Partnership with Banks and Financial Institutions

Conzerv Systems has evolved partnerships with Banks and Financial Institutions in implementing Energy Efficiency projects, and is working with multilateral and bilateral organisations, agencies of Central and state governments, and industry associations to further develope these partnerships.

Partnership Opportunities

Energy Efficiency has attracted the attention of Banks and Financial Institutions (FIs) in India, as a possible new avenue of profitable investment. However, Banks require the support of credible Energy Service Providers and Consultants to identify, implement and monitor projects. Conzerv is best suited to support Banks and FIs to identify viable EE projects and assess their financial implications, estimate and monitor payback, and evolve new EE financing models.

Conzerv has been contracted by World Bank through IREDA (Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, a Government of India financial undertaking) to work with Commercial Banks (State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and Union Bank of India) to promote the banks’ EE financing schemes in select Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) clusters. Conzerv's ongoing dialogue and discussions with Banks and FIs have helped the Banks to identify and learn from past experience in EE financing. The impetus to bring together Banks and Energy Service Providers to discuss and develop EE Financing Schemes was provided by the 3-Country (Brazil, China and India) Energy Efficiency Project ( www.3countryEE.org ) during 2002-2006 supported by World Bank, UN Foundation and UNEP along with Banks and FIs in India.
