Accuracy Levels

Error rating is an inherent component of a meter's technical specifications. They define the accuracy levels of the product, and are usually specified as percentages. This makes for some interesting "fine-print" observations, because most meter manufacturers specify the accuracy level in "% of Full Scale". This means that a seemingly lower error rating will actually amplify once plotted against a wider range on the scale.

Conzerv meters however specify accuracy levels as "% of Reading ", which may appear as "higher" but are actually more correct. Effectively, these error specs do not amplify in magnitude across the full-scale, resulting in higher accuracies.
